I have been on a smoothie kick lately. I drink them for breakfast or as a snack a few times a week. Sometimes at night, Brian will get ice cream and I will get out the blender and make a smoothie instead! I am trying to be better about making healthier eating choices. Keeping a few fresh or frozen fruits on hand makes it super easy to keep my temptations in check.

This is my favorite smoothie to date. I love that it's filling and the flavor is perfect! I also love feeling like I'm not cheating myself out of something, because this yummy little treat satisfies my "sweet" craving while still letting me eat "healthy."

Strawberry Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients
  • ½ cup oatmeal
  • 1 cup strawberry flavored Greek yogurt
  • 1 banana
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • 10 frozen strawberries
  • 2 fresh strawberries, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Place the oatmeal in a blender. Cover and process until the oatmeal resembles flour. Add the remaining ingredients. Cover and process until fully combined. Pour the smoothie mixture into serving glasses. Garnish with a fresh strawberry, if desired. Serve immediately.
