I received a MiracleGro AeroGarden to facilitate this post. Any and all opinions expressed are my own.
Try indoor herb gardening with the MiracleGro AeroGarden. It makes gardening so simple! Great gift idea too! #AeroGarden #ad
Since moving to Arizona, I haven't really taken up gardening again. Part of the reason is because the climate here is sooo much different from what I'm used to. The growing seasons are different from anywhere else I have ever lived and the fact that it almost never rains kind of scares me from investing too much money into plants that will probably die. The truth of the matter is, I just don't have a lot of time these days - time to learn about gardening in Arizona or the time it take to actually "garden." That totally sucks. Being a person who enjoys cooking, gardening usually goes hand in hand ... especially when it comes to fresh herbs!
I decided I wanted to take baby steps and try an indoor Winter herb garden this year. Granted, we still have pretty decent daytime highs, but our nights get pretty cold here in Phoenix. Not to mention, I have always loved the idea of just being able to reach over on my counter and snip some fresh herbs for a meal or garnish. Thanks to the MiracleGro AeroGarden, I can have the perfect Winter herb garden in the comfort of my own kitchen! :)
Since the sun has shifted a bit, my kitchen doesn't get nearly the light it does in the Summer ... not to mention, the days are getting shorter! The AeroGaren has a grow light which is on a timer. I don't even have to make sure my herbs are getting enough light! It also has a light to remind me when to add more nutrients. Set up is super easy too - just place the pods in the holes and place the plastic cover over the top. Plug it in and you're set to go!
Since we're homeschoolers, I am also taking this opportunity to teach my kiddos a little bit about plant life cycles and biology. They are eager to check on how much the plants have grown overnight - and even throughout the day!
With the holiday season upon us, I should note that the MiracleGro AeroGarden would make a great gift idea for home cookers and gardeners! Hint, hint! ;) Oh, and be sure to use promo code: Digital20
