I don't know about you, but I am the kind of person who likes to find new products at the grocery store. As a food blogger, one of the first things I say to myself when I find a new product is, how can I use this in a recipe? Sometimes, I get bunches of ideas and other times, my mind zeros in on one thing and I just want to race home to make whatever I am inspired to make!
While shopping at Frys recently, I spotted some Smucker's Fruit & Honey Fruit Spread up on the top shop while grabbing a jar of our normal Smucker's Concord Grape Jelly. My mind immediately started going crazy on ways that I could use this new found product and it hit me .... ooey gooey butter cake. Once I got that in my mind, I could not think of anything else that sounded so yummy! What started off as stopping into Frys for a few things, turned into shopping for dessert too! I think my family has come to expect the occasional side-track for recipe ingredients! Haha! I picked up a jar of the Triple Berry and the Blueberry Lemon .... and let me tell you, after trying them both, I need to pick up the Strawberry and Tropical Fruit Fruit & Honey Fruit Spread on my next visit to Frys!
Although the Smucker's Fruit & Honey Fruit Spread is naturally sweetened with honey and is great on toast (my three-year-old absolutely loves the Blueberry Lemon Fruit & Honey Fruit Spread - it's her favorite snack right now!), I knew I had to use the Fruit & Honey Fruit Spread in a fun and tasty recipe! You can find it at Kroger or any of the Kroger banner stores (Frys, Dillon, Fred Meyer, King Soopers, Ralphs and Smiths).
