This is as close as I could get to a Juicy Couture shopping bag, my client provided me with a picture of the real bag and this is the best I could accomplish. This cake was a little challenging for me, it was my first time making a shopping bag and I really needed it to make sure the cake had good support for his trip to a New York City club in a car with a bunch of 21 year old happy girls. The picture, as usual, doesn't make any justice, but the cake was actually very tall.

The type of shoe my client requested was also very challenging to accomplish , I didn't use any mold for it, everything is hand made and oh boy!!!. I do not think I will be making this type of shoe any more, it is way too difficult to make, very time consuming and I find that people do not want to pay what the work is really worth. So sandals will be my only option from now on.

For the letters I used black Satin Ice fondant. I rolled the fondant out, let it sit for a few minutes and using a letter template that I created myself with the Juicy font and an exacto knife, I hand cut  every letter and attached it to the cake with a dab of water. When you to this step, make sure do not use a lot of water or the letter might fall and leave a stain on the pink that is not quite easy to remove.

For the  "tissue paper"( I made it in advance), I rolled the fondant really thin and cut pieces in different sizes.I placed the pieces on top of parchment paper and I let it dry over night. In this picture you can see that the "tissue paper" that I used for the side of the shopping bag is fresh rolled fondant so I could place it easily in any way I wanted.

I hope you are having a fabulous week so far. Thank you for stopping by.
