Happy 1st day of October!!
One of my favorites Holidays is really around the corner and I can't wait to start getting up some Halloween post.
For today's post I have these fun Halloween Cookies that I made for the Cookie Cutter Company, they will have the set for sale so you can get your own and make some fun Halloween cookies.
Get your sun glasses out because I had tons of fun using super bright colors.
Since The Cookie Cutter Company is now carrying a new line of Disco Dust, I wanted to share with you my love for simple cookies using Disco Dust, which is super easy, (and super messy )to apply it to cookies.
Disco Dust lightly dusted will bring life to your cookies, it is so pretty. I love applying disco dust in my dry cookies, but you can also apply it on wet icing.
For these particular cookies I used the following Disco Dust:
Bright Orange
White
Amethyst
Emerald Green
Baby Yellow
You will also need:
Ghost 5" cookie cutter
Trick or Treat Pumpkin Cutter
Bat 4.5" cookie cutter
Tip #2, couplers, pastry bags
Royal icing in Americolor Electric orange and green
Black Food writers
Grey royal icing ( which you can use using black)
Stencils ( optional)
2 Small flat brushes
Coffee filter
Meringue powder
Water
Applying Disco Dust on dry cookies
-Outline and flood your cookies and let them dry overnight or until they are completely dry.
-Mix 1/2 tsp of meringue powder with 1/2 tsp of water.
-Using one of the pain brushes apply the meringue powder mixture in the areas of the cookie where you want the disco dust to stick.
-Sprinkle on the disco dust over the cookie( make sure the coffee filter is underneath
the cookie to catch the extra dust)
-Shake the cookie to remove the excess dust and using the dry brush, brush off dust from other areas of the cookie.
And then, there is the simplest pumpkin ever!
Now, this bats are pretty fancy!!
To make the chevron bat, I used a chevron stencil that I got at my local craft store.
You will see in the step by step pictures that is pretty straight forward using the stencil, just make sure the cookies are dry before using the stencil on the cookie.
Happy Cookie decorating!!
Don't forget to sign up for The Cookie Cutter Company newsletter , and enter the change to win a Kitchen Aid, color of your choice every month.
The first newsletter went out yesterday with a good coupon and a little feature of myself. I am very thankful for this opportunity.
Have a great Tuesday!!
